FedEx Dispatch Lead

Position Overview

The FedEx Dispatch Lead is a critical leadership role within Team K Logistics' daily operations. You will serve as the central hub of communication between drivers, management, and FedEx Ground — ensuring routes are covered, drivers are supported, and packages move on time. This is a high-accountability role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and leads by example.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily driver assignments, route coverage, and vehicle allocation
• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers during active routes
• Monitor real-time delivery performance using FedEx Ground systems and internal tools
• Identify and resolve route delays, driver issues, and service exceptions in real time
• Communicate proactively with FedEx Ground terminal management regarding performance
• Ensure all drivers complete pre-trip inspections and depart on schedule
• Manage driver check-in/check-out procedures and daily manifests
• Assist in onboarding and training new drivers on dispatch protocols
• Maintain accurate dispatch logs, incident reports, and performance records
• Escalate safety concerns, accidents, or compliance issues to operations management immediately
• Support route optimization efforts to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Coordinate with the maintenance team on vehicle availability and repair scheduling

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of dispatch, logistics coordination, or transportation operations experience
• Prior experience in a FedEx Ground, UPS, or last-mile delivery environment strongly preferred
• Proficiency with dispatch software, routing tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Exceptional communication skills — verbal and written
• Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure in a high-volume environment
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Demonstrated leadership ability — you lead from the front, not from behind a desk
• Availability for early morning start times (typically 4:00 AM – 5:00 AM)
• High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree a plus

Compensation & Benefits

• $28 – $36 per hour based on experience
